Blancmange - Mange Tout - 1984

  1. Y'know, I bought this when it first came out, on the strength of hearing "The Day Before You Came" playing in the record store and falling in love with the song. The rest of the album didn't grab me on the first listen. But after I listened to it more and more, I realized that it rarely ever left my turntable! After all these years, I still love it. Even if it doesn't grab you at first, I think that all of these songs really grow on you until you come to the realization that they've all become major earworms that get stuck in your head on repeat.

  2. Their most complete masterpiece, I think. However, for me, it is also important that it closes, as the the US version did, with the extended Luongo version of Day Before You Came, which I think is far superior to the shorter, Peter Collins one.

  3. This is for me the without a doubt the pinnacle of Blancmange. Sitting here in Shanghai with this playing what a treat - balls tp the Great Firewall
