Like Air, and even the first Kid Loco Record, they had a very unique sound during a very creative period of time in music, especially down-tempo music, when there was a lot of great music that got promoted and released on a large scale, which sadly seemed to fade out post 2003. I saw these guys play a small club, one of the guys dressed up in a Leno costume and greeted people in the audience. They incorporated a lot of the mixes into their set, which I thought were new songs at the time. Cool times. I think you may enjoy a lot of the Telle record music from that time, a very cool indie label run by some truly hip folks. Especially check out DJ Erot who was a good friend of theirs who's music sounded nearly identical to Royksopp, he died at an early age from a genetic heart condition, and only released a handful of singles. I always felt he had a special influence on their music that was lost after he died.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
